Thumbs up Mortal Kombat : Deadly Alliance

Well heres a gem in the series sure to spawn even more sequels to the popular title we have grown to love ever since seeing Kano rip out his first heart way back in 93 (im pretty sure it was that year, correct me if im wrong someone)

The basic thing is its a new MK game which means you get to play as some of the characters you have loved and of course some new ones will join in along the way. It also means that there is some sort of storyline for those of you who care, i cant say i honestly do so im not gonna write much about it.

Anyways back to the goodies. Three fighting styles make for a very interesting fight, 2 martial arts and one weapon for each character. The martial art styles are incredibly accurate as well for those nitpicks out there.

The game has so many hidden things its scary, from AA-AZ all the way to ZA-ZZ all requiring you to obtain koins from various game modes. And it has a story mode which i didnt care too much for (who needs story when theres violence to be had?)

The few complaints i have is with the games cheese factor with some moves (it seems 3-4 characters i have seen so far have one move that when done repeatedly gives the person no option to defend themself against it and therefore makes for a one sided match.) And also i have only found 1 fatality for each person, i seriously hope they put in more of them (probably in the depths of the huge store of hidden stuff)

I would have no quarrel giving this game a 9 if there was no cheesiness to the fighting but, when Johnny Cage doesnt have to do anything more than the old school sweep kick to win the match it really angers me, thus dropping this game to an 8 by my count.

Feedback?

Actually i dont play it that much anymore but its just like riding a bike, i can still pick it up and kick some ass.

Im still very impressed with it and i think its an awesome fighting game to play with friends, the story mode is still stupid but thats fine by me.

I've learned a lot of the inner workings of the game and sadly theres still only one fatality

Id say that buying this game is still a good idea as it will provide many hours of ass kicking entertainment

One fatality each! bah! This is Mortal Kombat, not Serious Injury Kombat!

They should make a new game - Mortal Kombat: Final Fatalities, where they bring back every character, with every fatality they've ever had, and many more, rendered in full motion-captured 3D, matrix-style, with a replay option with full camera control. Stuff the stories, we all know they sucked. We just want fatalities!

Yeah the problem with the game is that its not finished. Acclaim was putting pressure on them to hurry up and produce their product and as such some things never got finished, fatalities were one of them.

I think with the success of this game and with the whole awesome new 3 style fighting we will definitly see a sequel and with any luck that sequel will be finished and we will have more than one fatality to do. But until then we are stuck with this one which may be lacking but is still a great game.

The two hidden characters Mokap and Blaze are a joke. No fatalities, their bodies are just silly looking, they have 3 different fighting styles with no weapons and aren't unique at all. Total waste of time to sit there and play all the story mode to get them. Their three styles are just recycled styles from other fighters, total rip off.

Still the game is really addictive and i suggest anyone who has the spare cash to get it.

Deadly alliance is quite good. I always own all my friends in fighting games, and MKA is no exception.

I like that you can switch your stance, allowing different moves and weaponry. Im a firm believer in being able to kick anyones ass no matter what moves they do, i actually find it easier to beat opponent if they resort to cheap tactics and repeatedly use the same attack at me.

It provides you with good strategy considering you know exactly what their oncomining move is going to be.

I got everything for the game in 2 days man. I cheated of course but hey.

You dont get to be Goro, whom Ive always wanted to be. 4 arms and pea brain.

O and TC, there are 3 fatalities per person, I THINK> They could've done a better job with them too.

Yeah i got that game, shiiit, I practically grew up on mortal kombat. I had every single one, even those weird ones that they put together as an extra just for a quick buck -*cough*Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 for Sega Saturn*cough*- Yup, i dont think it did much good for me but i had a hellofatime playing it...and throwing the controller when i lost to the semi-boss after playing for 45 minutes...yeah.

Lets see i first had
MK1 - sega genesis i think
MK2 - actually i never got this super awsome classic but i played at my friends house
MK3 - heeeeellll yeah, sega genesis
ULTIMATE MK3 -sega saturn
MK4 - downloaded it for PC
MK5 - ps2
Dare i say, MK6?? lets just wait and see (hint: PS3....hinthinthint)

i remember Ultra MK3 had all these weird fatalitys like animality (turn into that chars animal and kill the enemy like a shark), babyality (turn them into a baby...), friendship (you make friends...gay), and i think there was some "super fatality"...oooh wait it was "brutality" or something.

Who else had ultra MK3 for sega saturn? SHOW OF HANDS!
