everyone is slagging the xbox. I have an xbox. I went throught the same painful quandry. I'll tell you, for a while it sucked, i wish i could play GTA, but now goddamn, I love my xbox. the games are killer and the graphics have much better detail.

if you don't care about GTA get xbox. otherwise, I guess you have no choice but to buy the inferior system that unfortunatly has the best game

I agree. The Xbox is the biggest bang for the buck on the marketplace now, besides halo 2 is coming out soo as well as project ego, and panzer dragon orta is out now. The Xbox is getting a great variety peace

I've got both, and my Xbox gets the most use by far. The only reason I still have my PS2 is for Rez.

I have all 3 consoles and a pretty good computer(I have too much $$ and nothing better to spend it on). Here is my rundown of all the systems:

xbox: my favorite system by far, because of games like halo and unreal. I like fps games on cpu better, but it's so fun to shoot the **** out of your friends when you are blazed. Any game that is released on all 3 systems is superior on xbox. It also has games like deathrow, and the xbox sports franchise is decent. I also love not having to buy memory cards, that way all my friends can have profiles on all the games we play and I don't need 10 memory cards to do it. If you want a multiplayer system, xbox is definetly the way to go.

ps2: it has some great games, but most of them are single player games, like gta vice city and final fantasy. Ps2 is really good for platform games too. I usually only play games with friends, so I hardly ever use my ps2. I don't think i've even turned it on for about 3 months besides to watch a movie. The only good multiplayer game I can think of off hand is atv offroad fury, which is by far one of the best games ever. I'm sure there are more I can't think of, but most of the games are on all 3 systems.

Gamecube: definetly a good system, but has **** for multiplayer games. There is wave race, mario party 4, and smash brothers, and that's about it. However, when I'm going to play a game by myself, it will usually be on gamecube. Metroid prime is the best game out right now, and there are so many others like mario sunshine, resident evil, eternal darkness, I could go on for a while. There are also some good games coming out for it in the future. Overall I like gamecube a lot.

Pc: I have a pretty good system(about 2.2 ghz with a geforce 4200ti),but I don't put it to use much. I just never got into the whole internet gaming thing too much. Its fun, but it's just not the same as whooping your friend sitting right next to you. If online gaming interestests you, and you like fps games, then pc is definetly the way to go.

I would have liked the x-box more if it I did have such high expectations,but when I got it I was just let down but it's still fun .I felt betrayed when I learned my x-box doesn't come playing dvd's and that I have to buy a dvd play back kit[sold sepertly] for it just to watch dvd's on it no one ever seems to mention this it's like a big secret rip off.

Yeah, so you have to pay an extra $30 or whatever costs for the dvd kit. You would spend a lot more than that on memory cards if it didn't have a built in hard drive, so it definetly equals out in the end.
