Default Anyone here work out stoned?

I ask because over the last couple of months (about 6 now) I have taken to smokin a bowl before hitting the gym, especially on heavy days. I started doing this after I took an afternoon off of work and ended up smoking a bowl before I went to go lift. I have asked my friends about this, but as they are all fat lazy bastards, they have no clue as to why I go to the gym in the first place so they are no help. I find it is easier to "block out distractions", plus, for some reason, I can really block out some of the strain and pain aspects of a heavy day.

So, anyone else blaze before going to the gym?

I have once and I will never do it again. Yes you don't feel the pain as much from the mucles strain which can cause problems. I woke up the next day sore as **** and I felt like crap. While high it is a lot easier to overdo it, so you just gotta be careful or you can seriously dammage your muscles or more importantly your tendons and ligaments.

Yeah I used to workout high as well. One day I realised I put way to much strain on my muscles and sprained my calf.

About 3 days a week I will work out while high. I usually smoke a bowl or two and do some light calisthetics(sp?). I find it much easier to do chin ups, situps, crunches, etc. while stoned.

Also, while listening to "power" music you can really get pumped up and get that Rocky type of feeling.

I know where your comming from. I work out everyday, first period in school. Then Ill work out when I get home. Ive been on a consistant schedual for about 4 months striaght. I havent smoked lately and lifted but its always more easier to do more reps and sets because you dont get so...So board, I used to smoke up in the Gym bathrooms then go striaght to the bench and in the morning if you feel sore, smoke more and relaxe. Just know your limits, man. Another thing is dont over do it like me, but I dont smoke everyday like I used to. Im only a weekend smoker now. How old are you? Im only 16
I dont care if people say it will stunt my growth, im happy with how tall I am (5'8).
P.S. What do you work on most? I mostly curl, I started off barely doing 20's now im maxing out on 40's. As for benching, meh...130 max. I weigh in at 140.

Herbalistic3- Whats up man. I am 28 (gettin old here ). I genrally work out on a 3 day split (shoulders/legs, back, chest). Your curls are better than mine, but then again I usually end back day with upper arms. You need to work on your bench bud, but hey you have plenty of time to grow. I wouldn't worry about stunting your growth. 16 is plenty old enough to start seriously lifting. I wish I had started earlier myself. Been lifting for awhile, so I don't really worry about over-doing it; I pretty much know where I am at. But, I kid you not, if I blaze before lifting on my heavy days (3 days weks heavy, 3 days light) it makes a world of difference to my ability to concentrate (lol) on my lift. I went last night and was seriously stoned. By brother came over and we smoked 3 or 4 bowls in about a half hour. I was so blazed it took me a while to remember it was chest day . I weigh ~167 lbs and got 265 lbs on my incline yesterday for 6 reps. I messed up my shoulder a couple of months ago playing soccer , so I don't flat bench much anymore.

I don't smoke, so I can't say i've ever lifted high, but I'll throw in my lifting schedule as well. As a college wrestler, I focus on more explosive power-building lifts, such as the olympic lifts. Oh yeah, and I wrestle at 133 lbs in season and weigh about 150-155 lbs in the off season.

Power cleans: 4 sets x 8 reps: 95, 115, 135, 155 lbs
Push jerks: 4 sets x 8 reps: 95, 115, 135, 155 lbs
Clean and jerk: 4 sets x 8 reps: 95, 115, 135, 155 lbs
Snatch: 4 sets x 8 reps: 75, 95, 115, 135 lbs
Bench: 4 sets x 10, 8, 6, 4 reps: 175, 195, 215, 235 lbs
Seated row: 3 sets x 10 reps: all 125 lbs
Military press: 4 sets x 10, 8, 6, 4 reps: 135, 155, 175, 195 lbs
Lat pulls: 3 sets x 10 reps: all 125 lbs
Squats: 4 sets x 10, 8, 6, 4 reps: 135, 175, 215, 255 lbs
Leg extensions: 3 sets x 10 reps: all 125 lbs
Leg curls: 3 sets x 10 reps: all 125 lbs
Calves: 3 sets x 10 reps: all 100 lbs.

So, you have 4 olympic lifts, 4 arms and back lifts, and 4 legs lifts. These can be split into two days, each done twice a week, for a total of four lifts a week. Or they can be split into three days, done either once or twice a week, for a total of three or six days a week.
