| Baldur’s gate2 I just bought Baldur’s gate 2 the collection. It came with two expansions shadows of Amn and Throne Of Bhaal when I start the game it displays both expansions, Shadows Of Amn and Throne Of Baal however, I don’t know which one to play first. The company that the game was purchased from did a crapy job; they did not send an instruction manual or anything to help getting started with the game. I really want to get in to this famous Baulders gate that I have been hearing about for so long and want to start from the original story line can anyone advise on what one to start first? I know this is a dumb question but last time I played an rpg I started backwards and it confused the end of the story If there are any BG fans out there, what would you recommend as the best character for a first time player any hints tips? ![]() |

| Definately play Shadows of Amn first. There's a very good opening movie. I suggest you watch it.

| At first i thought this thread was "does anybody here play rugbee" ![]() This new board things gonna take some getting used to. I played the original but i wasnt too fond of it, i wanted to kill everyone and the game just wasn't cooperating. Those first two wizard dudes you get were evil but not quite evil enough, like the diet coke of evil or something. *pinky to mouth* |

| I went through life living hell trying to install this dang game @ First everything was ok until I attempted to install the second disk Thrown Of Baal that is when the trouble began. When I went to play the game, an error message came up saying insert disk 2 into drive d… I have 2 cd ROMs and wasn’t sure which drive was the d drive so I tried both and the error message still came up saying insert disk 2 into drive d. @ this point I started to get pissed, there were no other drives to insert the disk. It had to be one of the two. Therefore, I uninstalled both versions, and then reinstalled them. Started up the game, uninstalling them both worked and the game was playable. then I noticed Green Streaks all over the screen, it was annoying. @ this point I did not know what else to do, then all the sudden the automatic updates started to update the computer, when it was done updating I noticed an update at the windows update center that was not critical, but recommended. The recommended update was for NVIDIA drivers I figured what the hell, I then proceeded to download the drivers, when I finished and rebooted the PC I went to start the game and everything was working fine, thank god. I haven’t played the game yet, just went through the tutorial, talked to a few NPCs the game seemed to be Ok… the graphics are pretty cool however the only problem I see in the feature of playing the game is the controls and all the complicated spells. it seems like you really have to know the game, like spells, armor, which character can ware cretin armor or use special weapons (this game did not come with any instructions.) and I do not know what abilities to put into making the character, such as the AGI Cha or what would be the best character for a beginner. I thought about making a Cleric but decided not to because it would probably take a grate amount of experience of knowing spells. Therefore, I am going to make a fighter for the first character, probably be easier and when I get to know the game, and gain knowledge of what spells so what that when I’ll make a caster. |
