Which cheap system should i buy here soon. I've really began to like video games cause of weed added to it. The experience is crazy, so my question is this. I'll be making $30 coming up and have been looking for cheap systems on ebay. Theres ps, n64 and even dreamcast. So which should i get for the time being? Any input will be appreciated.

personally, I'd save up the cash for a Ps2, x-box, or gamecube. the other systems are ok, but lack of software support for them means no new cool games coming out for them. I have a PS2, and have been toying with the idea of buying an x-box or gamecube, since they have been dropping in price (PS2, XBOX-$149, gamecube $99) I know this doesn't answer your question, but I just don't see the point in buying an older system, since they aren't really supported much anymore.

Yea i am thinking the same thing, so im shooting for a Gamecube. Its the cheapest system, plus it wont be long earning the money. Yea i should have a GC within a month, hopefully.

Good choice....while there are several entertaining titles for the systems you mentioned previously, the lack of new material would get to me rather quickly. I think you've made the best choice, as you are gettting a good system with a great supply of current titles. Of course, GTA: San Andreas isn't going to be availableon gamecube, and right now that is my fav. game EVER! If I didn't already own one, I might have bought a PS2 just because of the Grand theft Auto series!

Well if you like super nintendo, nintendo and sega genesis games then id suggest getting the dreamcast as theres emulators out there on the web where you can play every single game of the above mentioned systems on the dreamcast. So if you are looking for a good deal this may be your best bet, especially if you are just now getting into games as you will have all the classics at your fingertips.

And im sure you can get one on ebay or at your local seedy video game store for 30 bucks or less. The trouble with the new systems is games are so expensive for them and often times i find they are so linear and repetitive that i feel they werent worth the 50 bucks i spent on them (Viewtiful Joe anyone?). But pop a snes game in front of me and im good for hours.

Yeah, I'd buy a SNES or Nintendo off of Ebay, some games, and cleaning utensils for it (We all remember what happened to our glorious Nintendo...) I just feel that out of every gaming experience I had, the classics were the best.

I'll check the prices out on the systems to see what i want. I appreciate the feedback, keep tokin!

****, I lost my whole reply. The jist of it was that you can use PC emulators for all systems besides PS2, GameCube, and XBox. PS2 is superior to the others because it has a much bigger online community (GameCube basically doesn't even have one), more quality games that are exclusive to it (XBox just has Halo and Halo 2, Game Cube just has those Mario games, but if you like those, then that's cool), a better controller (debatable, but I'll always feel more comfortable with a Dual Shock 2 in my hands than an XBox behemoth), and the satisfaction of not supporting Microsoft.

Nintendo is practically out of business anyway. My friend just bought a PS2 after owning a GameCube for years and says that PS2 is much better.

The only reason I can give you for buying an XBox is the superior visual capabilities. But if you want to look at pretty animations and particle effects, then just use your PC. If you want good console games, then buy a PS2.

I just recently purchased a ps2, and i am really happy with it. It actually enables me to cut back on my pot usage, because i am bored mcuh less. Weeknights i might have spent smoking at around 10:00, i'll just turn on my ps2 instead.

It cost $179.99 canadian, and i love it. Its tiny, about as wide as 1 and a half cd's and about an inch thick, and it comes with a network adapter built in (its a $50 expense if you buy an older bulkier ps2). And the online play is free. None of this subscription bull****. Games are expensive, but christmas is coming up, and i'm asking for GTA: San Andreas of course.

It was definately a worthwile purchase, i'm going to try to turn my room into more of a stoner-oriented room (black lights and bean bag chairs and such), and this makes a great addition.
