I have been thinking about getting a game cube, i want to know whose got one and if its worth it. i know most people will say get PS2 or XBox, so dont thats not what this thread is. I like n64 and is Gamecube worth it?

I'll try to say this as objectively as possible because I own a PS2.

My friend had a GameCube for a few years. His brother bought it and his dad didn't deem it necessary for them to have two systems, so he just used that one. He played it for a while, and there were a few decent games. However, none of the system exclusives (Luigi's Mansion, Double Dash) really justified the cost of the system. Yes, Double Dash is a great game, but it's one of the only ones that you'll get only on GameCube that is high quality. A little while ago, he switched to PS2, and has been loving it. He says that he likes the controller better, and he also loves San Andreas.

Here's where I'd put a paragraph or two about why PS2 owns.

for my tastes theres only like 5 games TOPS that i would consider getting for GC.pretty much only reason i want a GC is just to have it.besides that most of the games on the GC (except for the nintendo made ones) are available on other systems as well.my friend has one that he got cuz he was strapped for cash at the time and isnt impressed with it at all.i think he just got an xbox and is way stoked with that.Anyways if youre into limited game selection and dont care if you cant play DVDs or cds on it than go ahead and get it.

Edit: oh yea i think GC has a little monitor you can get to bring it with you on trips so thats a plus.

I'd go for an XBox, I don't know of many people that got a GC, but the ones that dudes aren't overly happy about them. The GC is so small, and looks cheezy. PS2 is kool, but games don't seem to look as great compared to the Xbox.

yea my brother has a GC....its awsome for sports games and nintendo only games..i love old school nintendo, but i have an XBox and love it.....the GC doesn't play DVDs and has a limited selection of games but a plus is you can get a game that allows you to play gameboy games on the GC plus a few other extras

its all depends on the games u play.

i hav a gcube, but i wish i had got xbox.

gcube is good for "kids games"
ps2 is more my kind of games, but they dont hav halo and many xbox games.
xbox has all of the best games, and many good ps2 games.
(xbox over ps2: 4 ppl can play w/o multi tap, on board memory (songs/games)) so in short, gcube isent worth it. i duno wat kind of games ur into, but pay the few more bucks and get xbox.

i got a game cube and wished i didnt. sure the madden game rocks and bond and turok are fun but its not that great. oh mario tennis rules all though.

Well, almost everyone in this thread did tell you not to. You could play Madden on PS2, even online.

hey man i have a gamecube and i love it, it realy does have good games you jsut have to look and try them man, and its not for "kiddy games" have you played Resident evil 4, man that game is insane. ive played all the systems, xbox and cube are both good, i prefer cube tho, i have dvd player and surrond sound system so i dont need it to play dvds. im not dising anything tho i like em all i jsut prefer gamecube.
