Never have I seen such a collection of "all of my friends" or "every person I know" exaggerations.

To each his own, but the system stomps anything out right now.

Just because it seems as though the majority of people posting here disagree with you doesn't make them haters. Most hhave offered decent enough reasons why they dislike the 360. I won't even go so far as to say I don't LIKE the 360, just that i won't purchase one until MS resolves certain issues. if they DON'T resolve them, I won't be purchasing one.

To clarify, I do think that the system itself kicks ass compared to anything else available (on console). But as far as game selection and price go.... I should've just financed a gaming computer IMO.

tehbagel-oops, I didn't really pay much attention to the price of xboxlive gold after it said something along the lines of "all this can be YOURS for only...." $4 per month really isn't that bad. Is that the rate they charge if you choose to be billed every 30 days? Or is that the rate if you shell out for a year's worth of time?

I remember when I signed up that I would have done it if I could have gotten the yearly rate but billed monthly, as the bank account was running low due to spending roughly $580 on the console, 2 games and a controller. I could've afforded to bill monthly with their rates, but I'm not too keen on getting ripped off. I figure if I already shelled out $400 for the system, and $60 per game, and I pay for my own DSL connection, then I shouldn't have to pay extra for XBL... And until they make it free I can live without it.

Well I got a 360 from a fend and so far it hasn't broke yet i have had for a bit now I just don't play it much. I like to play games on my PC better. I'm just more use to with my mouse and keyboard.

Just got one for Christmas!!! Finally an upgrade from N64 haha. I got Madden 06, The Godfather, Gears of War, and Table Tennis. The table tennis game is so dope.

I've got Gears of War and NHL 07 and play NHL occasionally online. I find the servers veeery laggy though. I even upgraded my high speed internet just to try and fix the issue and it's still slow. How is Gears of War online? I will drag out my ethernet cable and hook it up soon and add u guys. My Xbox ID is Hammerstak.

And to go back to the topic a bit, I think Xbox 360 is great, but it does have lots of problems. The one sitting in my living room is my third one, the other two having screwed up within the first two days each.

Xbox Live Arcade is awesome too. I got Doom and love playin it on the 360. The downloadable demos keep you busy for a while in a pinch too.

My dad decided he wanted an X-Box 360 for his birthday back in August, so we got him one. I don't believe it's given him any problems whatsoever, and the games I've played on it were really fun and addictive. I don't know if he plays on live or not, but I doubt it, considering that he's currently addicted to Oblivion, and that's not a multiplayer game. And he plays it a lot- pretty much everyday for a few hours at least.

So, I dunno. If it were more affordable, I'd get one myself (I now live about 2000 miles away from my folks), but I'm not too worried about it, for I have a computer which has, so far, not come up against a game that it doesn't render beautifully... the newest game I've played on it is Oblivion, though, so that may've changed by now. Also, my brother, who I live with, has a Wii. We're a very diverse family when it comes to video games, I guess, although honestly, I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for Nintendo above other gaming platforms...
