yea but that doesnt mean it isnt fun. And even if you are a guitar player you can still realize it is a video game and enjoy it. I just got the second one. Its taking a while for me to get good at it. Right now Im only getting 3 stars on median.

I don't own my own copies, but I can hold my own on most of the expert-level songs. My roommate told me I had a good learning curve for most of it when I was playing expert songs after 1-2 hours per day for a couple months. I actually got interested in rock and playing guitar after playing GH and I know it's nothing like the real thing. I'm a gamer and that's how it matters to me.

The game is pretty much awesome, but when i went back to my h ouse after a long night at my friends house of playing it, and picked up my electric fender american deluxe strat with abalone inlays hahah! the game is awesome. I like Guitar Hero II because its got more classic rock then new rock.

It is fun to play - I really stink at it though - I'm best on the easy level hahaha.
If you stare at it long enough, and then move your head, it feels like the room is moving in that direction because of the screen - and that was doing it while sober. imagine high? hahaha

xbox 360 is finally coming out with a version where you can play against people through xbox live and also eventually download more songs through the xbox marketplace. If they do it right it should be pretty sweet.

You cants play multiplayer, XBL is just leaderboards & content download. I cant wait for the 360 guitar effects pedals to come out.

This is an old thread, but I thought I would add...

we just bought the guitar hero for my kids on PS2...and we got the Legends of Rock, Guitar Hero 1 and 2 and the one for the 80's (these last three games were $50 in a box set on black friday at wally world) We also wound up buying an extra guitar so the kids could battle. My youngest son can use the regular controller, but it isn't as fun that way.

anyway, my kids and husband get a kick out of this game. they have so much fun playing it, who cares if it is an insult to real guitar players....so one says...my husband is a real guitar player and bass player and LOVES this game, so I guess it is all in who you are.

It is an early Christmas present, but we decided to give it to them now (mainly b/c my husband couldn't wait anymore.) I laugh so hard while watching them play. And we got so many games so the music doesn't become burn out so easily.

I love playing Guitar Hero. Even though I'm not too good at it, and could never play a real one, I still enjoy being in my own fantasy of feeling like a rockstar

I got burned out on Guitar Hero when I couldn't get any further than medium. Once that 5th button gets involved, it's impossible for me.
