no, god of war is a second person adventure title. you play as kratos, a (i think) renegade dude in ancient greece and theres crazy battles and bloody dismemberments, inventive traps and cool, powerful combat that makes you look forward to the next brawl.

but no. the best ps2 game ever is mgs3: subsistence. i cant say enough about it. its almost the perfect game. japanese to english translation makes for a kinda wierd script, but really thats the only thing. ill say this: after i beat it, i played through it two more times finding insane secrets before i even thought about playing another game. and when i finally did grab another title, it was metal gear solid 2!

Oblivion/Morrowind are like the best RPG games ever made. Of course there only for Xbox/360 but if you're into great RPGs, it might even be worth picking up....

I know you already got a game... but BURNOUT REVENGE! BURNOUT REVENGE! BURNOUT REVENGE! BURNOUT REVENGE!
Best racing game ever. Awesome graphics, awesome gameplay, huge levels, so many 1 player events, so much replay value... The point of the game is to take down other cars and do cool stuff in order to gain boost. You're driving cars that can go up to 200+ miles an hour, and your car is pretty much indestructable. Run into a wall while turning? You won't blow up. Crash into traffic that's going the same direction? You'll send them FLYing. You can take down opponent's cars this way too
The only way to crash is if you hit a wall dead-on, or hit on-coming traffic.

Other than that... I recommend Amplitude. It's like DDR, but there's no dancing. You just press buttons at the right time. It sounds a little lame, but the game has awesome songs from artists such as Weezer, David Bowie, Garbage, TCM... so good. It has great music and lots of weird ass flashing lights and shit. So fun to play stoned.

Also.. you may dominate in SSB:M, but I can skool anyone in SSB for the N64
