Anyone play this game yet? I rented it a couple weeks ago and still haven't returned it. It's exactly like GTA. I beat the main story after a few days, but there is so much more shit to do it's insane. You should definitely check this game out if your a fan of GTA.

I'm gonna have late fees out the ass now though.

i was gonna rent it but it looked to much like a gta rip off. ive been playing dead rising like a mad man tho.

It is a GTA ripoff but it's still fun as hell. You can buy weed and other stuff from the liqour store. But when you smoke or drink it only lasts like 30 secs.

I think I'm gonna buy dead rising, the demo is pretty fun.

Hmmm....yet another game I've never heard of.

I don't think a GTA clone could possibly be better than GTA. That game is the original and if people don't bring something original to the table everyone is going to compare it to GTA and there's no way it will measure up.

It's like going to see a Beatles tribute band. Sure they can imitate them really well but down inside it doesn't feel as magical

I think this is just an attempt by some no name game makers to cash in on the GTA craze. That's where the money is and that was their only concern when making game I assume. They looked at making a game as a business (can't blame them for that) and they knew what would make money so they went with that. I'm starting to ramble but this is something that really bothers me. When game companies just rip off the ideas of others just because it's a sure way to make money, it hurts the gamers. It lowers everyone's expectations of originality and what a game can be and people can get away with more rip off crap than ever, just to make money. Games are an art form to me. There has to be passion behind project otherwise you end up with blatently obvious attempts to rake in a share of the "blow shit up and kill everyone you see" genre. Alright my rant is over...just my two cents.

I have to disagree with you and tell you to play the game. Yes it has ripped off GTA pretty good but why should one game own a genre(Sandbox criminal game). When doom came out all other first person games were called Doom clones so whats the difference? This game takes GTA and fixes alot of crap rockstar did sucky like aiming and activities. Another reason this is a good thing is because rockstar can't slack off now because now they have fierce competition. And if your gonna compare this game to any in the series you have to make it GTA 3 because this game just came out and the devs haven't had the time to make this game to the extent of say SA but i believe the sequels will reach and surpass that point.

My only disappointment with this game is the short story and the totally wanksta feel of almost all the "gangstaz". White gangsta with SPIKEY hair, that hardcore ;P

I'd have to say if I were to compare it to any GTA game it would be the next GTA down the line. Just because these people didn't program GTA doesn't mean they have never played it and had the opportunity to analyze what has been done wrong with the series and how to improve upon it.

Plus, everything that came out after DooM really was just a DooM clone until Duke Nuked 3D came out. If it makes money then people are going to cash in on the craze. For example, when Yo-Yos became really popular about 10 years ago, "Yomega" was the big name that offered a sweet new kind of yo-yo that would "sleep" forever. Then everyone else came along and started making sleeping yo-yos so they could cash in on the craze. Some offered it for a lower price or some put flashing lights in the yo-yos. Saintsrow would be the flashing yo-yo because it takes the original and "makes it better."

I'm sure it's a great game because GTA is a fucking sweet game. I just have a problem when anyone doesn't come original. I'll never play the game because it's a rip-off and it's only on satanbox. It's the same reason I didn't buy F.E.A.R. when it came out. It's nothing new. It's just recycled crap with a really flashy wrapper that at first makes the game seem astounding but a year after release they're giving it away for free (the multiplayer at least). In five years when people talk about what pushed games in the direction they've gone, neither F.E.A.R. nor Saintsrow will be mentioned. But I promise that Half-Life and GTA will be on that list for all time because they came up with the idea while others tried to improve upon it for the sake of money and not for the love of the game.

it is a great game but my xbox got the 3 blinking red lights = hardware failure. lucky i have my 3 year replacement plan from best buy!

Saints Row is more or less exactly like GTA San Andreas with a different plot and setting, but on xbox360 the graphics are so much better than any GTA that it makes it a whole different game. Plus like someone said before you can buy weed and liqour at stores in the game. Usually ill just get really high and drunk (in the game) and go from store to store breaking into the safes in the backrooms lol But overall I'd say it's better than GTA if for nothing else than the graphics.
But ps3 is coming out and another GTA is supposed to come out in October of next year or something like that, so we'll see...

GTA 3 was the building frame for the rest in the series. To get where they are today they just built on the already built frame which is GTA3 and spent more time adding cooler stuff each time. Saints row is the first of the series and on a brand new platform so they didn't have time with complicated physics engines to balance out bikes and boats so they don't float alway. I'm sure GTA4 will have some features left behind from SA because in a way they are starting new with a brand new engine and physics. To say that FEAR and and SW willn't be talked about is pretty obvious but doesn't make them any less good. How many games pushes gaming in a direction? Call of Duty was a great game but nothing new, Doom 3 wasn't really anything special but still a great game, Oblivion didn't push the envelope but also a very good game.

Not trying to sound like a SW fanboy but i don't feel like waiting years for a new GTA game to come out all the time. Now about FEAR, its definitly a sleeper hit and if it brought any thing to the table it was suspense added in to a FPS and the reason they made the multiplayer free was because it really was a good multiplayer but few people got to try it out.
