| Dude where have you been? BF2 was game of the year for pretty much every publication for 2005. It's all of those combined depending on how you want to look at it. It's a first person shooter but you have an account so your stats are tracked. You gain "experience" like with an RPG with stuff like flag caps, repairing friendly vehicles, and of course kills. You "level up" and unlock a new weapon every time you level up. There's a bunch of different classes, everything you'd expect to see in combat. There's also a commander position that goes to whoever volunteers and has the highest rank. So if a sergeant and a private volunteer for the commander then the sergeant gets the job. The commander has a top down 3d view of the battlefield and is responsible for coordinating attacks and defense by giving orders to different squads. The commander also drops supplies, vehicles, and artillery where needed. Also the commander can reveal parts of the map to people on his team through UAVs. Plus there's every vehicle you could imagine that would be involved in a battle. Check out this sweet video of the game. |
