insane amount of money, considering how bad he was in real madrid, but then again the star-stacked team been crap since he came there.
he's just 31, so possible he might pick up his game in the MLS where the tempo and skill isn't as high as in europe.
suspect the move was to do with his wife wanting to be in movies.

what an over-rated piece of crap. worth more like $2.5m a year. I can't wait to boo him and sing against the Galaxy this season. I hate this man. Although if he can help MLS develop, I hate to say it but, I will be forever grateful.

I am hoping this will help promote the sports popularity in the US..I mean Beckham is probably the only player much of the population knows off-hand.

At first I was shocked that he would even have any desire to play in the MLS after playing for Madrid and Man U......but then I saw the (cha-CHING$) price they offered him.

But I say bring some Brazilians into the MLS.

First off MLS, fubol, soccer will never....and i mean never be worth a shit in the USA. Arena football has a better chance than "BECK" aka douchebag. The LA team might get another few G's..fan-wise..but soccer will never work in the USA. If only every team could spend a QUARTER BILLION on a average futbol'r. Give Cristiano Ronaldo 300 mil, Ronaldinho 600 mil, Kaka 250 mil, Del Rossi, Del Piero 200 mil, Rooney and Owen a few million also. HAHA still wont work.

USA is MLB, NFL, NBA, and i guess...uuhh Nascar. NHL has shown ground, but again, will never be a American sport.

Whatever...Beckham was the most "googled" person from '02-'04. Either he will help take USA and soccer to the next generation or we will have more tiny moms driving huge SUV's with "futbols" on their windows.

Unfortunately I don't think soccer can be as big here. It just not american enough, I mean they wouldn't even be able to do commercials except for half. I wish it would get bigger here but at the same time it would take away from the other leagues which would be a shame because the tradition everywhere else in the world is much stronger. I could really care less if beckham plays in the mls, I don't like him much but that really took balls to make such a cowerdly step back. If money is all he wants than he belongs in an american league. Anybody else see Ars vs Liv a couple days ago. Some nice goals scored. Go gunners.
