| I'm a NWN addict. I love the game and play online. Of course, it's much more enjoyable while smoking... (hee hee) Are there any NWN Fans? ![]() |

| I've played it out years ago and after a while of playing it it seems like there are only a couple main objectives to the online version and that is to be in one stage where you get SUPER weapons by killing online players... I do like the single player versions though. |

| HOTU's single player campaign was pretty fun and decent, but the original NWN one was terrible. I never played two, or Shadows, though, so I don't know on those. When I did play, I played mostly on a big LOTR based server. I'm sure you've both played the same module, it was pretty popular, though the one I was on had been privately expanded (we used my atlas of middle earth as a reference. Yes, I am such a geek. I know). But I was never able to really buckle down and seriously play single-player downloadable modules... I got an urge to cheat that I didn't in normal single player... and thus made a glove with unlimited uses of a whole bunch of spells. Fun fun. If you want some great single player rpgs, go no further than Baldur's Gate II and Arcanum. You will be satisfied. And amazed. I know it's technically off-topic, but Arcanum is STILL my favorite world concept for a game... hmm, maybe I could make an Arcanum mod for NWN... Ahem. Anyway though. As I said before though, I am indeed a huge geek. When I was younger, I played D&D, and still sometimes have an uncontrollable urge to buy a new book and memorize it, despite not having a serious gaming session in years. I'm particularly familiar with the Forgotten Realms campaign setting (both second and third edition version... sigh), and I can say this- the greatest strength of the Forgotten Realms is to provide an easy, fairly diverse background to tell a story in. The thing is in the characters and how they live, something that I don't feel was really done very well in the original NWN.
