Has anyone else been pissing themselves in anticipation for this game? Has anyone else been keeping up with smashbros.com?

You're in the right place, brother.

It goes without saying that Super Smash Bros: Melee was the BEST GameCube game out there. It sold more than any other GameCube game, and was probably the biggest system seller as well. I absolutely fucking LOVE this game. It's one of the few games I can play for hours without getting tired of it, along with having some of the best replay value. It's nearly impossible to play 2 identical matches. The game is always fresh and interesting. The gameplay gets fast and crazy, and the most smack talk comes after all the juggling, meteor attacks, smashes, item bashes, etc. What a great mother fucking game.

But hell, this thread is about its sequel. According to the game's creators, it will have 4 different control set-ups: The gamecube controller (which will probably be my preference, as it will allow for the easiest transition), the classic controller, the wiimote held sideways, and the wiimote + nunchuku combo. Unbelievable that they've managed to accommodate so many control set-ups. Time will tell if they're all fair and balanced.

And they've apparently added a footstool jump. It can be used to vault off of your opponent's head, high in the air, and/or to perform a meteor attack. Can you imagine someone edge-guarding two characters, when one recovers by bouncing off the other character trying to get back on, stealing the edge-guarding player's kill in the process? So fucking awesome. I cannot WAIT for this game, even if it has reportedly been slowed down a notch from Melee.

So, who else is excited? The magical day is Dec 3, 2007. If this game has online connectivity, brawlers here definitely have to schedule fights and see who's the smash king. Oh, let the glorious hubris and smack-talk commence!

By the way, my character in Melee was Fox. He's a bit cheap because he's so fast and can reflect nearly every projectile, but god damn is he fun to play...

man i cant FUCKING WAIT for brawl to come out FUCK. we got the wii last thanksgiving with smash on our minds. we played melee so much. i played as link. but it really pisses me off how much time we have to wait for it...
