| It's here! The sports season that I live and breathe for. The only sport that I can stand watching for longer than 10 minutes, and I love every single minute of it. A fan only for a few years, but a die hard fan at that. I love all basketball not just my team (Detroit) and I like to think that I have a good bit of knowledge of the game and players. So here it is, the thread. I hope to god I can find some good NBA fans. I forget who, but there was a small group of good ol' boys that kept the thread alive and I appreciated it . So lets get this ball rollin'. Who's your pick? Any predictions are welcome, any fanboys or hate is welcome . I like to make playoff predictions each year before the season starts. This year it was very hard to predict what's going to happen, but here is what I thinkWest San Antonio Dallas Phoenix Utah Houston Denver L.A. Lakers Memphis East Chicago Detroit Toronto Orlando Boston New Jersey Cleveland Miami Both sides of the game have great stories to tell, finally it's not just west this west that. How about Boston?! This should just be amazing. I became a fan of the Celtics a few years ago, when they still weren't that good at all. Pierce Garnett and Allen should be so exciting, I can't wait to watch one of their games. The west is still incredible though. Dallas has so many pieces to their puzzle! I mean even their bench is impressive. What about Kobe eh? Being trades, not being traded. I think he should be, it would be real exciting to see him at another team. He has said he'd like to go to a team like Chicago or Dallas. If he went to Dallas, I think that team would be close to unstoppable. Since they have so many pieces, they can EASILY get a starting line-up of something like Devin Harris Kobe Bryant Josh Howard Dirk Nowitzki Desagana Diop how can you beat that starting line-up? I've never seen anything like it. Now I'm sure it won't happen, Dallas hasn't shown any interest that I'm aware of, but it would be something to make you drop your jaw in awe. I still have to pick Detroit for the east. It's my team, and they have an excellent bench this year. Weak in the center position unfortunately, hopefully we can get C Webb back, or someone else...I don't know how, but something small has to happen in the season to jumpstart us. So share your thoughts. Keep the thread alive and have fun . I'll most likely be posting often, most likely just to complain about my team losing . Now I'm going to watch the Seattle and Denver game. Hooray for the NBA!

No mention of my Warriors... The Washington Generals of the NBA... LOL They were a lot of fun to watch last year!! I hope they are at least as good this year. Either way, as long as Nelly is there and Baron Davis, I will watch and try my best to believe. Oakland was a different place there for a month or so during the end of the season/playoffs.

I admit the Warriors were really fun to watch during the play-offs last year against Dallas, but other then that run, I don't see them doing anything much in this season. The NBA seems to have a lot of powerhouses right now, it's not just Detroit Miami, Phoenix and San Antonio anymore like a couple years ago. you got Chicago, New Jersey, Boston, Denver, Dallas, Houston, Utah, all very skilled teams, and all could have an argument saying they could win the championship this year. I just can't see Golden State thrown into that mix.

lol, hey once they started running through Dallas last year I was definitely rootin' for 'em. The last couple teams in my list from the west are pretty much toss ups anyways, so they could easily be replaced with Golden State. whooo knows.

Don Nelson is an exciting coach and one of the best there is, so anything is possible. One thing is for sure, they will be fun to watch again. Nellyball and Oaktown just seem to go perfect together. In the end, I'd like to see San Antonio take a dive and watch Detroit step up or even better, Chicago.

Yeah I have high hopes for Detroit. They have a great bench this year, and great young guys that know how to play the game well. They are 2-0 already, back to back games on the road and last night they beat the Magic by 24 points . Not only that, but we were without Rip Hamilton and without what is believed to be our best rookie, Rodney Stuckey. Hiiigh hopes, he's got, hiiiigh hopes

This is the one time of the year I miss having cable, because i get no NBA love on my rabbit ear channels. I do keep up with the stats through yahoo sports, but I really miss watching the games. I am a life long Celtics fan and excited about the team once again. I will get my predictions up for post season play soon, even though the season is underway it is still early. How about a prediction for champion. I am throwing my Celtics into that mix WOOT WOOT

Well I just have to go with Detroit and Dallas in the finals, Detroit winning. Celtics are a great team now I do agree, but Toronto is on the rise and had a stellar season last year, and I just don't think they will win that division. What they do in the play-offs, well I dont know, but I think they have really good chances of making it far. If Dallas doesn't win it for the west, then my underdog pick is going to be Houston . I don't think they will win that division, but they have a really stacked squad, and if Yao and T-Mac stay healthy, they are going to be able to accomplish a lot this season. I watched the Boston Washington game the other day and man was it great seeing Arenas beat down by them after he had to talk shit about no chance Boston is going to win that game. Boston has a bright future for sure. The stars mesh very well on the same team, they all have similar background of being the only guy holding up the team, and they have a really good bond on the court, as well as off.

Yea I love the C's, they look good this year. Who knows, it could be Red Sox winning the championship, pats with the superbowl, and the C's with the championship. Ahhh Its a good year to be a new englander.
