I was a bit unimpressed at Mass Effect. Yeah..it was fun. The dialogue is fucking sketchy though. I've went backwards and had the same conversation more than once, using different dialogue answers and Shepard still says the same thing, if not close, and the other character gives the same response. The only times the dailogue really shapes the story is when you are given a choice. Choose this or that person. Go here or go there. Tell the council or don't tell the council. Blah

The AI on your team is fucking trash. You can be hiding behind a wall, and one of your teammates is just standing out in the open getting shot by a hoard of geth.

The side quests are a waste of time and boring. All it usually is, is talk to this person, then that person, then back to the first person, and all you get out of the deal is a little extra XP and maybe some cash.

And the shops aren't really needed at all. I was an infiltrator my first time going through the game, pistol and sniper, and I never once had to buy an item for myself or any other member of my team.

It was a lot of fun, don't get me wrong. I enjoyed many parts, and it was hard as hell making some of the decisions you have to in the game, but it isn't as amazing as everyone says it is. In the end, the biggest reason I didn't think highly of it was, again it was short! I was so upset at the end when I figured that it was over.

Ive been playing Assassin Creed and absolutely loving it. This game is probably THE game of 07 in my eyes. Halo 3, yeah, it's fun. GH3, yeah its addictive. Other title, yeah it was good but it's got its share of problems. AC is so subversive, the graphics phenomenal and just playing the game is fun - nothing like jumping rooftop to rooftop taking out guards and corrupt officials.

What bad reviews? It received mixed reviews, but generally it was well accepted.... It may be a bit repetitive when you get farther in the game, but never boring. Besides, ain't everyone a critic? I guarantee its more fun than Mass Effect, I thought that game mediocre in my opinion.

Mass Effect was mediocre. The RPG, nor the action was that good.

I really didn't mean "bad reviews" just not what was expected.
I mostly follow ign.com. They were saying how the campaign is very repetitive and sort of boring, and the game could've been so much more, and only gave it a 7 something. 7 ain't bad, but games like Bioshock and Halo get 9's...just not what I expected, so I wasn't going to buy it.

bio shock leaves assasins creed in the dust, though assasins creed is a great game too

Bio shock was about the story though. I played it for a bit and gave up, the game play mechanics are weak and the action seemed too linear (not to say AC isn't). They are pretty much two entirely separate games, and genre of game - it's like comparing Final Fantasy to the Halo series, it just doesn't work...

I prefer involving, high-paced action games - something that gets your heart racing - Bioshock was good, but not my type of game...

to me assasins creed when i play it its a lot of the same..i havent played it for too long though but i hope it gets better. i just assasinated tanir and im just beyond that point in the game. to me its lacking the action i was looking for. it gets kinda boring. on the other hand with bioshock, things are constantly changing, new levels new capabilities, it keeps me hooked. how is assasins creed like around mid game? what kind of objectives and levels are you given? is the whole game in this same city u start in?
