Now, I understand that baseball is our national pastime. This being said, why in the hell is an issue like this being taken to the grand jury? Maybe I missed something, but how is this so important to the way Americans live their lives that it has to be taken to our highest court? Don't they have more important things to deal with other than baseball players using steroids? This topic was brought on by the CNN.com headline which reads, "Congress will ask the Justice Department to investigate whether Roger Clemens made false statements to a House committee.". Why, why, why. I understand that lying under oath is a federal offense so I can actually see this being reasonable, however, this never would have even happened in the first place if there wasn't such a big goddamn hissy-fit being thrown over baseball players using steroids. It's a game. Drug test 'em, and that's that. Maybe I've missed something along the way, but this just seems like a waste of time and resources for our government. Any opinions?

I agree, I don't understand why it's being taken to the highest courts. Those courts should be for actual cases that matter for the whole country. Baseball should deal with it's steroid problem itself. Set up their own courts or something. If they don't want players to take steroids, drug test them.

There you have it. I ask the same thing on why they made a big deal on Clinton getting fellatio from an intern. I guess I missed that day in school where they said marital fidelity was a good barometer of Presidential ability.

Egh, what gets me is that it never should've even come to that in the first place.
