Unhappy We Will Miss You

I would just like to say how sad I am that Brett Favre has retired. I have never known watching the Green Bay Packers without Brett Favre and it may never be the same again.

Heres to you Brett, the greatest QB of all time!

Any other Wisconsinites or Packer fans feeling my pain right now?

It is sad to see Brett Favre go, but I did see this coming. It would have been nice if he could have gone out with a bang, having a Superbowl win his last year.

You know, I had a feeling in the Playoffs that it might be his last one. Kind of like the last battle cry for him. He's a great QB and a great player. Cheers to you Brett!

Honestly, I'm a bit surprised to see him go. It looked like he had more fun this season than in any season in recent memory. Also, he's got to be haunted by his last throw that sent the Giants to the Super Bowl. I guess they all can't go out like Elway though.

I thought he'd leave too. It's really difficult to play that hard for so long, put your body through it, only to see Eli Manning take it from you in an instant.

Some people are saying he's gonna come back, but he seemed pretty final, I wouldn't bet on it.

It's pretty weird, especially for someone like me. Other people can actually remember Bart Starr....I simply have never seen the Packers play a game without Favre behind center.

I think it's the right time to see him go. We saw what Aaron Rodgers could do against the cowboys and I think it's about time he's given the chance to attempt to play to that high standard week in and week out. Favre has my respect for being so durable but I would not go as far as saying he's the best quarterback of all time. He has all the records because he's played for so long and that packers have shown blind alegiance to him even when he had a terrible season such as that 29 interception season a few years back. However, hes a great sportsman and should go down in history for bringing so many memories to us. But yeah, the team is young and has plenty to hope for, he can't go on forever and to leave after a good year seems right. He did through that last pick but there's no garauntee that coming back can make up for that. He's been a very inconsistant quarterback throughout the years and I think he sees that the team is ready to move on without him and his place in history is set.
