Silly perks? What do you mean by "silly"? Yes, they have perks, and I think some of them are amazing additions. Stopping Power, Iron Lungs (hold your breath longer for sniper shots) Extreme conditioning (longer running), sleight of hand (faster reloading)...
There are a whole bunch and I think they all have it's special purpose. And despite what people online think, some of the perks aren't "newb" or unfair . I hate when people complain about a certain addition or certain gun that is supposedly more "newb" than the rest.

The only gay perks I can think of but should not matter since everyone has the same right to use them, is martyrdom (drop live grenade when killed) and juggernaut (extra health).

Wasn't sure, thats why I asked. But yeah, I think a lot of people forget that its more of an arcade type shooter.
Juggernaut was the one that I heard of. But it was from people who as far as I know hadn't actually played COD4 online. Thats why I was asking.
A mate of mine plays in a nationally ranked xb360 COD4 team here in Australia, but I can't remember that much of what he said on the matter, so I was trying to get some other opinions.

That's exactly the perks I knew someone was thinking of. I don't think they're unfair, or 'gay'. For one, martyrdom is one of the best perks to use in small maps, most definitely. If I annoy people with it, good. Although the only map I really use it on is Vacant most the time.
It has it's drawbacks as well. Martyrdom on hardcore can kill your teammates easily.
And Juggernaut is annoying, but just as fair. Compared to the other perks you have to give up to use juggernaut, it's fair.

That's pretty cool about your freind. Some people are straight out sick to this game I don't even understand it. I mean I have to say that COD4 is one of the games I've been best at ever in online modes. I'm usually one of the top two scores in a game, no matter if I'm on the losing team or not. But even that said, I get into some games with people and get completely wasted by them round after round. It's incredible.

And even though it is an arcade type shooter, the perks ARE still pretty fair. You won't get anything outrageous like invincibility for 20 seconds or something. It's all things that a person could be normally gifted or talented at.

Cod 4 is def the best feel-good online shooter. I mean you could go into a game concentrating and pwn every1 like mad or you could be really tired and just wanna play a few rounds and still pwn.

I also finish 1st or 2nd like every time which I think is just a result of always being sick on a fps with a ps controller's joysticks.

. Unfortunately, I am much worse at 1 v 1. I still pull it off usually but I enjoy the team element, especially considering I am now mostly using a sniper or LMG. Plus I play on 360

Sorry I should have elaborated. 1 v 1 is crap. I meant more if you just went on opposing teams, but either way was just having a larf... Of sorts.

I would have to say xcom is my favorite single player game. Was a big fan of ff6 too, not so much for 7. COD4 single player is pretty awesome as well.
