Default Mountain Biking

Anybody into it? I just recently started to get REALLY interested in it as a fun little afterwork, weekend hobby. I went out and got a sick Cannondale F5 bike, matte black finish.

Actually, a lot of this was inspired by a video someone posted on here a while back that showed a crazy downhill mountain bike clip. Anyways, yea, Ive been ripping trails and of course havin a toke on the hills.

Nice bike man, I'm really into the trick side of biking (I used to own a cannondale chase 3). But I still love to rip up the trails every once in while... So much fun. Congrats on the new bike, shes beautiful, ride her hard.

I was into biking and I used to be a bike assembler and repair dude at the local bike shop. Nice bike man. I hated setting up disc brakes though. I could never get the feel I wanted with out having them rub. Have fun and ride safe

I love mountain biking.

I have a few bikes, but I am not sure on their exact models. 2 Mongooses and 1 GT. The Mongooses are cheaper models, but they do the trick and I don't have to worry about wrecking them. The GT is really expensive but I have to replace the rear disc brakes. I think I annihilated my aluminum frame Mongoose from going way too fast. I crashed and the front spokes (wheel attachments) bent. The bike rides fine, but it's a real wiggly-wobbly feel. I'll have to give it a more thorough inspection when I have time

Living in Alaska there are tons of great opportunities for mountain biking. Within a mile of my house there are countless trails to hit up. A good portion of my summer is spent with my dog and bike in the forest.

Heh, yeah, that video you are talking about ADIDAS is sweet. I wish I could have something like that to practice on... how are the trails in your neck of the woods ADIDAS?

That term is all too appropriate to describe my "neck of the woods" being that I live in Kentucky. All wooded hills around here unless its made from brick or cement. Trails galore! I guarentee Alaska has some killer trails, its way too beautiful not too.

Thanks jrgong and vern, yea the disc brakes still have a slight zing to them when I make heavy right turns, but after my post purchase tuneup, that should be straightened out.

I am a bit pissed though, after 3 days, I already have a flat tire. Tried to ride it to work on the sidewalk and someone left their trashcan blocking the path, so I had to jump off track, right into a ditch, Pfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff (deflation noise ) flat. I hit that shit real hard, bout slung me over the bars hahaha.

I hate flat tires. I have had more than I can remember, they are always a pain in the ass.

Is there a reason you didn't get rear shocks?

Personally I dont like rear shocks, it seems to 'absorbent' when I am riding. One of my bikes has it but it's not too bad I guess. I prefer having suspension on the actual seat instead on the rear wheel.

Its all about the benjamins baby! Hahah, yea, full suspension bikes start at 1,200 or so. Im hoping to get one for Christmas as it is not even close to my budget. The Cannondale Prophet will be the likely candidate when the time comes.
