I've always called loose non-bud marijuana "shake". That's what's left at the bottom of the bag after you use up all the buds.

I have another name for the stuff that ends up in the side of my weed bowl. Usually it's stems along with shake and bud parts that usually gives us a bowl or 2 when we're out of real bud...we call it 'grunt'!

Haha...yeah, you pretty much hit that one on the nose...I can see how a guy would be too macho to call it something like that...or anything other than shake...or grunt...
