I was talking to someone on AIM and he was talking about smoking bud. He said something like "so i smoked some chronic and-" and i i asked "you do coke?" apparently its a new england thing where chronic is weed laced with cocaine, but where he's from it just means dank weed. what is your definition of it? all i know is i don't ask for that name lol, just to play it safe.

Around here, Chronic is just weed, usually good bud. Weed laced with an off topic is generally not sold unless it is laced without your knowledge, and that is easily identified before buying.

If you want to get into off topics mixed with weed, it seems like its a "do it yourself" sorta thing where I live...

Chronic has two different definitions varying on your location.

East Coast: Weed (Marijuana) that is laced with Cocaine to give an added effect

West Coast: The finest weed available with no seeds or any shit
East: I'm feeling suicidal, lemme get some chronic

West:I'm looking to get some chronic, none of that crappy bullshit

Im on the east coast and we interpret chronic as being just really good bud.

It always makes me mad when i hear someone laces weed with any offtopic.

I'm on the east coast, and I see chronic definitions as an age thing. I'm in my late 20s and when I started hearing the term Chronic (14, 15), it meant weed laced with coke. Now when I hear it, people usually use "the chronic" interchangeably with "the shit" obviously meaning the product is of higher quality. Being that this is a slang term, it's up for interpretation and change. Being that most interpret it not to mean coke laced with weed, we have to rely on other terms like "candy coating" or "winter trees" to take the place of chronic.

The term chronic originally meant marijuana laced from cocaine. From what I understand it's now evolved to mean high quality marijuana and it's original meaning is rarely used. Sure is interesting how words evolve in subcultures...
