G-13 is a supposedly extremely potent strain of cannabis that the government contracted the University of Mississippi to grow as a small branch of The Potency Monitoring Project, which is still active to this day. Another Potency Monitoring Project was conducted by a company called PharmChem in private which found rather high THC levels in the cultivated plants. I'm not going to give numbers since practically all the sources differ on that, they all do, however, agree that the THC levels were higher than any current strains available. The University of Mississippi refuses to talk about the matter because they are under government contract not to disclose any information.

Apparently, while the G13 plant was being cultivated at the University of Mississippi, someone broke in and stole some plants. All of these plants turned out to be female however. At least, that is the popular urban myth. True or not, this story has been exploited by many a man to promote sales. Nevil's seed bank offerred G13 seeds in the mid 80's, which sold very well; weather they were truly seeds from the G13 plant is something of a matter of debate, though most people lean towards that being falacy, including myself. The existence of the G13 strain has been recently hyped up by shady dealers looking to make extra cash or some low-key seedbanks trying to do the same. The movie American Beauty also featured the strain, but as far as movies go..what are you gonna do.

The way I see it is, and take this as you will, G13 was grown by the University of Mississippi under contract by the government. Why? Rather than lean on the side of all this conspiracy claptrap about the government selling it illegally and whatnot, I would think that it had something to do along the lines of medical use for marijuana. This all happened in the early 80's so.. that is rather plausible. As for the strain being stolen? Doubt it, but possibly.. even if it was, I highly doubt that it survives in any way shape or form today outside of controlled testing facilities. Had it survived, it simply would have been rather popular and cheap by now, ala Northern Lights or whatnot.

In either case, I suppose that when Marijuana eventually does become legal in the United States, and it eventually will, perhaps more light will be shed.

g-13 is possible to find in its pure form. some of the nyc services have legit g-13, on rare occassions but sometimes, and it is incredible.

G13 is a real type...i personally have had it a few times....its a little odd thogu....it looks like shitty regs with no keef but it gets you fried beyond beleive....a good price for it arund were i live is 20 or 25 a G.....good luck o the people trying to find it

i can see that most of you are noobs so here ya go:

swag- brown seedy impotent bud that gives you a headache and makes you sit on the couch all day.

mids/middle-grade/"commerce"- better than swag. less seeds, better high, usually no headache.

chronic/kind bud (KB)- very potent with no seeds. NO HEADACHE. will take half the bud to get you twice as fucked up as swag. it doesnt matter how it was grown, if its bomb ass weed with no seeds and abundant in cyrstals, its CHRONIC/KB! get that straight. theres outdoor KB and hydro KB. seriously the term CHronic/KB applies to all good bud. even medical
