I've had a look at soo many words and heard soo many, so the question is, how did they start and spread? 4:20 allegedly began in the 80s (i think) at a school in California. At 4:20 they would go behind the school and smoke up. Another example within my group is the name for the hole in the side of some pipes. One night we were all baked as hell and one of them (they all claim to be the creator) calls out 'cover the Tbor'. I dont know maybe you have heard of this one also? Ok well i'd like to hear some more stories of how our terminology came into existence

Considering parents, school officials, employers, etc all already seem to know about 420, there isn't much of a secret what it represents anymore. The meaning was a LOT more obscure wa decade ago than it is now. While 4/20 remain an important day and time to me, its not a very stealthy method of referring to weed anymore. Yelling "420!!" a decade ago would earn you some random confused stares back in the day, but now many people know exactly what you're referring to. The origion of 420 may be a mystery to many, but its meaning is clear to anyone who pays even the slightest bit of attention to pop culture. Newspapers feature 4/20 article, schools send letters to parents about the date, and even bars advertise for 4/20 around here, and I live in one of the most conservative areas of the nation.

Ok I haven't learned much about it but from what I understand, nobody knows exactly what the origin of 4/20 is or why it is the day it is? What's the most common belief? Also, does anyone know roughly how long people have been celebrating 4/20?
