Default Smoke Up/ Smoke Out

Alright, who uses the term "smoke up" and who uses the term ? "smoke out?"

Around here in New England, no one as far as I know uses the term smoke out, everyone I know speaks of smoking as up. This is a interesting social-geographical phenomenon.....where are the lines draw for the difference in terminology?

Usually my friends and I say smoke up to refer to the act of smoking the weed: "We smoked up behind the school."

I use smoke out when saying that someone is getting someone else high: "Bob smoked Phil out after someone ripped him off. What a nice guy."

Just got a nug of KB yay

Normally I say smoke up, but occaisionally I say smoke out. Maybe it's mj.com's influence or something.

I live in california, the land of blondes with ridicously huge boobies.

"Smoke up" is never used around here, and actually, "smoke out" has a slightly different meaning. You wouldnt say, "me and my friends smoked out"...its only used when one or more friends let another friend or friends smoke their weed with them for free.
Ie, "yeah dude dont worry if your broke, on friday I'll hella smoke you out"

Default smoke up, smoke out

Basically, where I come from, "smoking up" is just the act of smoking marijuana.

Example
"Zack and Joe went in the woods to smoke up."

A "smoke out" is usually the term we use to refer to a major smoking event.

Example
"madcap just picked up a quarter-pound and we're going to his house to have a smoke out!"

ATL-
"Smoke Down" is used like "smoke up", I think it started as a word-play on "Throw Down." ("FVCK the Bullshyt, its time to smoke down!")
I don't hear "smoke out" a lot, but on occasion.
And most of the time we just say "smoke" and its understood we aren't talkin' about crack or Marlboro's.

I'm from the midwest and madcap's definition is the same as we use here.

'smoke up' is the act of smoking - "Let's go smoke up"

'smoke out' is a party - "Hey Burt's having a major smoke out at his place. Let's go!"
