I started this cuz im real new to smokin pot, and I got a few questions that would seem dumb in any other place. I know there are others out there that were to shy to post this crap. first, what the hell is a bowl? Is it part of a bong? What is a one-hitter? How do you filter? When someone talks about smokin out of a piece, what the heck are they talking about?

I remember the days of being a newbie, trying to figure out all the slang. like a DEA agent with his head all atwirl with new phrases and venacular to memorize.

Bowl = the part of the bong or pipe where the weed is placed. Usually it is made of glass or wood, sometimes metal.

Filter means to remove some of the tar out of the smoke. This is done with a filter (bought at any tabacco shop) and placed in the joint. It can also mean when the smoke is ran through water (ie; a bong) to remove the larger particles, as well as the heat.

Note: there is much debate about the effectivness and health concerns of a bong. To put those to rest, it does filter some THC. It also takes out tar. Those arent the health benifits though. The benifit is not breathing in searing hot gasses. It also removes a lot of the carbon monoxide.

A one hitter is a pipe designed to be small and hold only enough grass to take one hit. it has some good uses, not a great peice for a group though.

A peice is any smoking utensil. Beit a pipe, bong, joint, etc.

a dome is the end of a blunt
ie : "I smoked that blunt to the dome"
or the person can also mean he smoked it and it went strait to his head

thats slang around here anyways..

The size of a dime depends on the potency/strain and the economic factors in the particular area. ie: the availability of marijuana in a particular region.

Around here a dime is 10 grams of pot, usually worth about $60~$80. $10 of pot is just called a ten sack.
