I have been getting some really great dank from a local grower, and I have heard that the two available strains names' are Iron Mist and Shoreline. I was curious to know if anybody has heard of either of these strains and has any background genetic information on them.

Also, does everybody have a name for their dank, or do some people just buy "dank"?

Never heard of any of those strains, must be local. Most of the headdier strains will have names, but you really have to trust your dealer. Mine's fairly trustworthy, but occasionally he'll give me some commercial kindbud without a name. So it just depends.

I don't know if "names" in the US generally mean much. In Holland, it REALLY means you are getting a certain genetic strain, so anytime you buy that weed the high and weed will be very similiar (nearly the same). In the US it seems that people just make up names, or mis-name stuff with Hollands famous names (Eg. I bought stuff in the US sold as "blueberry" like 4 times before I went to Amsterdam, and after buying REAL Blueberry, I realized I had actually never seen it before in the US)....

Oh well, as long as it is good stuff I could give a sh*t about the name.

ie blueberry3 or whatever
justlike there's NL# and each different variation is different

Most of the purveyors of fine green around here have their own grow operations, and really are able to sell the strains they say they have... but the grow conditions and manicuring have some bearing on product quality too. I've had blueberry that was unf***ing believable - and from the very same guy one crop later, 'blueberry' that was just... not. He had changed to a different fertilzer that really impacted the taste for the worse [on all his product].

Names of strains in my part of the country mean very little. Its all some dealer trying to blow smoke up your ass(not literally!). I just know if I'm getting good sh*t or not by the smell and by eyeballing it really well.

Yeah I get the Iron Mist regularly, I'm pretty sure it's about an 60/40 sativa-indica cross...I also get Shoreline from time to time...it's not quite as strong as the Iron Mist, and a little less flavor, but still a very good bud. it grows denser, but with less trichromes. just curious, but are you from Austin?

the ****ing dealers in my town will give u slack bags, dirt weed or every once in awhile they will give u some nice kind bud but they never tell me what strain it is
