i always thought of the term "snitch" as a person who betrays a friend by ratting them out to the po'.

i agree, it was wrong of your mates to knock off another friends' place but i still think it was wrong of you to snitch, what kind of friend does that, if you were a good friend you would stick by your mates, no matter what.
what they did was an illegal offence but your smoking weed is too but they dont rat on you about it.


personally, if it was rape, i'd tell the piggies and murder, in most cases also.

ok...let's look at this...What kind of friend was I? A ****ty one I guess, from your perspective. But, what kind of friends were they?

I should stick by them? **** that...I'm not about to hold hands and follow them into the goddamn pokey just cuz we're friends. Knowing them...if i hadn't said anything, i'm about 99% sure they would've said I was also involed (cuz they had big egos and told me about the theft the day after). The 5-0 know us, not because we were/are criminals though (it's a small town, everybody knows everbody). I would've never been able to come up with an story as to what i was doing the night in question, as there would've been zero people to verify it...

no ****...a serious offence...breaking and entering....theft of **** worth quite alot. not to mention it was for drug money.

Uhhh....they smoked too buddy. And uh..they'd have no reason to just "decide" to turn me in for smoking pot.

WTF is wrong with you people?! You'd just sit with your thumbs up your asses if your friends f*cking burglarized a house, even if it belonged to another friend of yours? What if you did have friends that did that, and the friend who's house the robbed was...yours!? Wouldn't you want the burglars brought to justice? I have absolutely zero sympathy for anyone who burglarizes a house, friend or not. It's called living in a society, people, not little clans. That's part of maintaing law and order, rather than living in a Mad Max movie where you always have to fight to protect what's yours.

Anti-there are many decisions that just won't turn out well no matter what choice you make, and this is definitely one of those decisions, and if you ask me, you did the right thing. I hate those would would endeavour to take that which I have(read:thieves), and, well, ya gotta do what ya gotta do. You made the decision based on what your conscience told you, not on any kind of external pressure, and that takes strength and character. It was a real crime, and therefore, not snitching.
