Is a snitch someone who tell's about a drug deal,or someone who tell's about anything he or she knows?

Say you know a store clerk who is selling cigarettes and booze to minor's.Should you turn him in?Would you be a snitch if you did,or just a good citizen?

So,is a snitch just a person who gives police information about illegal drug activities,or does the word cover all information given to the police?

I turned 3 very good friends of mine in because they burglarised a house. Only one of them is still a friend. turning people in for major crimes is not being a "snitch" it's being responsible citizen. I like to be one. even if I smoke pot, i'm not the enemy of democracy.

id see your act as a snitch move ant. theres no other way about it. In my opinion snitching all has to do with betreyal. for example, disclosing info about someone you consider a friend is snitching. disclosing info on someone who you dont like/dont give a **** about is not snitching imho, thats just ****ing someone over. i dunno thats how i view it.

A snitch, to me, is someone who tells anyone anything that shouldnt be informed about it. I'd have to disagree with Anti147. I could never do that. I would feel like a narc. If they do something bad, they'll get what they put out. Its not your place to turn in friends, and if you do, your not friends.

WHAT?! it was a burglary, not some petty ****. it's not like I ratted them out for smoking grass or snorting meth or even dealing. Those 3 guys broke into someones house in the middle of the night and stole like $6000 worth of stuff that wasn't theirs...we were all 19 at the time too. they knew better, but their lazy asses wouldn't go out and get jobs, so they wanted to rip someone else off, AND tried to get me involed. they wanted me to drive them an hour to the nearest pawn shop since those bums didn't have cars.

Lets add another fact into the equation. the house they robbed was another friend of ours, whose family had moved to north carolina. they left some stuff here in MN and were coming back to get the rest. Gee, I though...would those mother****ers've robbed my ****ing house if I would've moved? I bet they would've...they know I have 2 nice computers and a ****load of gaming consoles, games, tons of CDs and a nice stereo system. and yet another thing..they made the ****ing mistake of bragging about the burglary to me...yeh, you ****ing lowlifes.

yeh you guys are right though, I don't need friends that do that ****...but you guys would never turn your friends in, you'd rather hang out with thieves. put yourselfs in the shoes of the victim, and think how terrible you'd feel if someone did know about it and never told just because they were "friends".

I think a snitch is a person that is afraid to go to jail for getting busted with something,so he makes a deal to get out of going to jail.

If I know about a murder or theft or robbery or rape,I am going to tell on you!We don't need a peice of s**t like that hurting our society and preying on us because they are too lazy to work.

If I get busted for possesion,and snitch out my dealer to get out of it,then I can be called a snitch.

If I just tell on a criminal,then that is my civic duty to do so. Why?Because,what if he was planning on you or your's next?
What if he was going to rape a member of your family next,and by turning them in,I have prevented that from happening!

i have to agree with the old dedbr on this one except that i beak the law almost every day by smoking i vote, got to town meeting, pay taxes etc

if i saw a burglary, robberry etc I would call the cops these are crimes that hurt people and society....pot has never(almost)hurt anyone. cocaine heroin etc are a drain on society and I would hesitate to let the cops know anomously (sp) what was going on..

I really dont have to worry bout robberys, murders, rapes, etc... in my town. its pretty peaceful, with the execptions of a few fights, i hve not really seen anything that would consitute as being illegal(except for smoking ).

I disagree anti. I think snitching is terrible. Even in your situation. I believe that everybody should worry about themselves and themselves only. In the USSR, all people did was snitch each other out then before they know it, the KGB is at their door about to murder them, thats how my great grandad died, of a heart attack from the stress of thinking the KGB was going to come get him. I believe that not telling somebody doesnt make you a bad citizen. If they kept on doing **** like that, they would get caught eventually. Just my two cents tho.

These are not cool people or bud's or anything like that.

These are common thieves who deserve to get busted and go to jail!

A thief is just a lazy no account!What if the people woke up and someone got hurt?

And he's right,if it would of been his stuff,they would of broke in and ripped him off,too.
