I would just like to know why some people spell marijuana with an H instead of a J.....this has been one of those things that stays in the back of your mind and slowly eat's away at you....Anyone wanna help me clear this up?

I believe Marihuana is the Mexican spelling of the word. I think the word just changed over time.

a j is is pronounced like an h in spanish. For instance Juan is actually pronounced Huan. I believe the correct spelling is marijuana, but since the mexicans pronounce it marihuana, some folks here in the states spell it that way

I read something about that on the Norml web site a long time ago. I believe it was in the history of MJ . I'll try to find it for you. If I remember corectly, it had something to do with proabition.
