Does this make anyone else mad? I hear people say, "Come on! I mean, it IS a weed." This is completely wrong. First, a weed is an arbitrary term for any plant that is undesirable. The only people who would consider cannabis an actual weed are the DEA (well, perhaps the government in general--at least, that's the impression I would get from what they say in public).

One man's weed is another man's flower. There is no scientific genus or species called "weed." Think, people. Think.

It's a weed because it grows anywhere and cannot be stopped. Can you get rid of all the dandylions in the world? No, its impossible. Yout only looking at the negative side of it. They have been trying for years to anialate marijuana off the face of the earth. Oviously the plant has prevailed. Be proud of the weed and the people who continue to grow it.

I have NEVER seen it grow wild. And I have been out in the woods a LOT in my life. What was that you were saying about not being able to stop it?

Your definition is incorrect. A weed is a plant that is undesirable, or growing where it is not wanted.

Stray Cat, i think your mind is starting to stray along with your damn cat. from now on STRAY CAT, dont post stuff that is a waste of time for others to read. do you think WEED is some synthetic drug or something, of course if ****ing grows in the wild. since you are the self-proclaimed king of "weed - terminology" , i figured you would have at least some idea of how our ecosystem works.

I wasn't claiming that it doesn't grow wild; I know it does. But I just thought that the comparison to the dandelion wasn't a good one because those actually do grow everywhere.

And, if you noticed, I said that people who call it a weed make me angry. This should've been a warning to anyone who was going to do so.

...and so does cannabis ... when the old WWII hempfields over run their borders... but mostly it's growing when someone ditches a seed or a dozen from rolling or smoking bowl ... that's probably why they call it Ditch Weed
