I am writing this just as a help and source of info. It is nothing to attack anyone personally or to make anyone feel stupid, but instead to educate. I have been browsing the forums lately, and I have seen a lot of people call their weed, Hydro, as in, "Hey I got some Hydro man". Hydro is not a type of marijuana, as many, many people think it is. Hydro is short for Hydroponics or a Way to grow plants, especially marijuana almost submerged in water in most instances, Hence the name HYDRO as in Hydrogen, which is the key of the growing technique, Hydroponics. Hydroponically grown marijuana usually shows more buds, and has a thicker stem as well as a fuller leafing. The plant is usually a lot healthier looking, with a hearty green tone to it. Hope this helps anyone who was confused.

yes, and may I add that hydroponics growing is not for amatuers so be careful who you buy your weed from. A badly produced hydroponics system can lead to low potency weed.

Hydroponics is deffinatly only for the Expert grower. A lot of dedication is put into the strains. Most have closed off vented rooms, with humidifiers, heaters, barmometers, temperature gauges, and of course the hydroponic system running water to the roots of the marijuana plant at all times. This care and dedication is what makes the strains that win the Cannibus Cup and other fine awards. If anyone decides to use this method, I HIGHLY reccomend that you have about $500 saved up, and a large empty room that is secluded, if not, ur gunna end up with a lot of low potency schwag, or dead plants.

I believe alot of smokers know what it is.But around here in new york the term "hydro" has replaced the name Sinsemilla or sins. Meaning hydro means seedless good weed around here. another misinterpretation or lie has been spreading around ny. Dealers are selling White widow as "g13"(governement grown), Some people are paying 30 dollars a gram for it. funny. Well weed is weed no matter the name, only matter the smoke ![]()

ChilleY: I am educating. I have seen many posts where Hydro has been referred to as a strain, when it is truly not. The better educated our society is, the better chaces of legalization due to more mature and well educated members of the smoking community. If you do not wish to know this information, then dont read it. Nothing personal just advice.

i too, have been searching these boards lately, and no where do i find some one directly saying, "yo, i got this kick ass strain called hyro" or , "how much does the strain hydro cost on average." its always reffered as a slang term for good weed, people know that hydro is a system fpr growing potent marijuana; and they know that just because it was grown hydroponicly, doesn't mean that it will always be great bud. its just a slang term.
