| Ok, here we go. First you have to understand IBL's. In Bred Lines. These are strains that have been inbred (mother to son, daughter to father,) for many generations to get stable traits. Original Thai, Columbian gold, Skunk and Northern Lights to name a few. When you breed two of these strains, the hybrid that results is the first filial generation...F1. F1's are usually very stable and usually great weed because they have the dominant genes from both parents. Breed two F1's and you get F2 seeds, and so on and so forth. Each successive filial generation would be less stable and also more prone to show recessive (undesirable or unforeseen) genes or traits. Hope this helped, Plains

| Yep, plains hit the nail right on the head, I'm a real big fan of genetics. Is that what you where looking for?

| Oh yeah we did this in Biology. It's called the Punnett system and it was originally discover with bean plants. You use a Punnett's Square to do it. Basically you can get three different combinations from two parents. Let's say the trait were looking at is about the size of the crystals in the weed. A big C for big crystals and a little c for small ones. The big C is dominant, so a combination that results in a big C and a little c, Cc, will result in an offspring with large crystals. A "cc" will have small crystals and will be thrown out. I may not be very clear, but if anyone wants more information I'll make some diagrams or something.
