Default What is a "hammer"

I just ordered a five inch hammer, and was curious as to what a hammer was? it looks just like a normal pipe but a little bigger bowl area.. http://www.potstar.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=138

Thats what I was thinking. I dont think theres much of a difference between a hammer and a spoon/regular glass pipe, just the bowl gives the whole pipe the look of a 'hammer.'

Sometimes, a hammer is used to describe a bubbler, as it's kinda similar in shape.

Obviously. It's used to just describe the shape.
