Default curing?

ive heard conflicting ideas about what this is. please point be in the right direction.

1. when the weed is kept airtight and left alone for a while, perhaps allowing the weed to gain potency (i dont know...it was worth a shot)

2. letting the weed chill for a bit just after its picked, out in the open. to lose a bit of the water and to let the THC settle. its just what i heard.

3. everyone and everything is completely wrong.

it would be awesome to tell my friends for sure and im sure they wouldnt disagree with the hardened, bud-wise members of the 420 lounge.

Glass jars, metal coffee tins, or tupperware, amongst other items, can be used to cure your buds. Place the well-dried flowers in the container of your choice and leave it in a relatively cool, dark place. Remove the lid from the container daily and turn the buds, allowing carbon dioxide to escape. Repeat this process for at least two weeks, or until you achieve the desired taste and/or potency.
