When you think of a pothead do you think of a burnout that just smokes all day with no motivation or future goals, or do you just think of them as an avid marijuana user? Personally, I just think a pothead smokes alot but can still be responsible. Rock the vote! Vote or die! Just fucking vote.

P.S. if you have a different definition other than the two I posted please share.

p.p.s I couldn't find this in my search but im not known for my searching capabilities (I realize this has been covered but i couldn't find any polls on it)

I think that it could mean either one, just because to me all it really says is a person who smokes a decent amount of pot. However, I think that in general that term would be associated with the lazy burnouts.

I voted active smoker who can still handle life, but i think its both, but i dont like stereo types.
a lot of people call me a pothead but im way more responsible than most of them and my life is moving in a great direction.... i think a better term for a burnout is just that, a burnout....
i think a pothead is just someone who smokes a lot... they can be responsible or irresponsible...

i think it depends on who and how its used.

Pro-pot person:Nice collection of pipes you pothead.

i personally just use it as somone who smokes large amounts of herb and is somewhat into the marijuana culture.

^ I agree. For nonsmokers, I think pothead has negative connotations. However, used within a group of heads, its fine.

I perfer stoner compared to pothead. Sounds more positive to me

I prefer "stoner" too. But no matter what you call me, I'd qualify as a pothead. But I say a pothead/stoner is someone who considers smoking important. Lots of people who are actually productive are considered burnouts by the ignorant. These people just assume anyone who smokes frequently is going to end up on the couch all day in mommy's basement. The basic fact is that lazy people are lazy people, and their parents don't want to blame their children or their own parenting skills so they blame weed.

I associate pothead with the first definition, I prefer to be called a stoner.
