Ahh the joy of scraping the gold from one's pipe. Elders, from your experience, which pipe is the best pipe for collecting resin samples and the best method for obtaining that prized resin?

probably metal pipes, easily disassembled.

If you want resin, the best way to go is a whip-type vaporizer. What collects on the inside of the glass and hose is pure cannabis resin, which you can dissolve with alcohol. Allow the alcohol to evaporate in a flat-bottomed pan and you can scrape up the golden resin with a single-edge razor blade.

I've never seen a pipe that yields "gold". They produce black tarry crap. Pipe residue is a mixture of cannabis resin and lots of the byproducts of incomplete combustion, many of which are toxic and potentially carcinogenic. I'd have to be really desperate before I'd touch the stuff.

Buzzby, care to shed a bit more light on this method? Do we need a pure alcohol? Are you submerging your entire wipe/bowl in a pan?

Ive always cleaned mine..never using this 'gold'.

A couple weeks ago I completely ran out of my supply and with a little help and a few tips (thanks again Spiral Architect) I ended up scraping together a pile of resin. It was the first time I had the mission to smoke resin and in the end, I was pleasantly surprised. I smoked out of my large bong and it gave me a really good high. I couldn't see myself going through all the work to get it on a regular basis but it's definitely a good last resort.

I have a metal one hitter that looks like a cig, I guess it collects resin well since i have to clean it after every session. Well, that is until I dropped it down the drain

make sure you have a good grip on things before you blow on them to cash!
