| How often do metal filters have to be replaced? Not sure if its okay for the crap to build up there or if I need to buy more. Thanks for the help. |

| If you are referring to the wire mesh filter in a wooden pipe, it would depend on how often you use your pipe. You could soak it in alcohol to clean it and then you wouldn't need to replace it for a long time. The build up of ash and plant material will make your smoke taste bad. I've only replaced mine once, and that's because the other one fell out.
