Has any of you tried smoking out of an old man's wooden tobacco pipe?

It will obviously work, but I was wondering how well? I kind of think they're cool looking haha

I've posted a number of times on the subject of wood pipes so you might want to do a search with "sterbo" and "wood"

All that aside, wood pipes are very cool. There are so many sizes and designs out there going back a gazillion years at least.
Long stem, short stem, large bowl, small bowl, a piece for every desire.
Buy 'em new or find them used.
I say go for it. I
They're a nice addition to anyone's collection...

I've used a tobacco pipe before, but didn't like it too much. Maybe I was doing something wrong, but the hits were too harsh and I didn't get nearly as high as when smoking from an ordinary glass pipe.

Perhaps the pipe was new. The inside of a wood (most often brier) bowl builds up whats called 'cake' over time which mellows the smoke.
Still, I'm surprised given that glass does not allow for a similar attribute (unless I suppose you hardly ever, if ever, clean it and still it would be quite different.

Insofar as not getting as high. I'm stumped on that one. Makes no sense at all unless it is simply the difference in the potency of the weed you were smoking in one vs the other...

Never tried a wooden piece yet but plan to sometime in the near future. Whether I like it or not, I still have to atleast one time for the hell of it. I wouldn't mind hitting something like this ->
