When you finish a join there is that black stuff near the filter, i believe it is called Resin? I have heard resin is 5% THC. Is this resin, and also could you smoke is by just gathering it, drying it, and filling a bowl full of just Resin.

First, out of fairness to all of the time and effort I and other members have put into answering this and other questions over and over again, I must suggest you do a 'search' of existing threads addressing this very question.

That said,
while you can scrape that black shit from your bowl and stem and make a nice little tar ball to smoke, it is kind of like running out of food and then scrapping a small amount of your poop from the T bowl and eating it for effect.
Who knows, it might offer some infinitesimal bit of sustenance,
but YUK...

I've gotten pretty baked off of resin. Though, for me at least, it's a different and shorter lasting kind of high... and it tastes like shit.

The resin really does taste like crap.
BUT! When there is a dry spell with finding the green... gather the bowls and scrape away! Two of us with a resin ball the size of your fingernail will hold us over until we can get more green.
Just keep a nice cold drink handy to sip in between!

What you have at the end of a joint or scrape from your bowl is not cannabis resin. It's pipe residue, kind of like the sludge that accumulates in a car's engine from partially burned oil. It is largely toxic residues, tars, benzene, and other crap from the incomplete combustion of plant matter, with a bit of THC. When you smoke it, the strange high you get is mostly the effect of inhaling small amounts of poisons.

Cannabis resin is the sticky stuff on high quality bud. It's wonderful stuff. Don't confuse it with pipe residue.

I dunno, resin is the stuff that gets sorta half smoked. Called Combustion By Products if you will. It will get you high. But its not very healthy, and it tastes, not like shit, but like ashes and maybe stale weed...

If you have tree lying around, I'd advise to just stick with the good stuff. Why risk getting a shitty buzz and taste for that matter if you don't really need to?
