I am leaving for school in a couple of days, and i was hoping to bring my pipe and grinder with me. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to do this the best way possible. My pipe is pretty dirty, and my grinder is stainless steel.

If it is at all possible to purchase another piece on arrival I would suggest doing so. While you can try cleaning it with the usual remedies (alcohol and salt, 420 cleaner, magic purple) I wouldn't think arrest is worth keeping a pipe. Then again, if there is no way you can purchase a new piece upon arrival I would suggest cleaning it several times and rinsing with hot hot water for at least a total of two hours. Again, you could probably get away with less but my freedom isn't worth it; I don't know about yours though?

As far as the grinder goes I really have no idea. I have always stayed away from it because I was afraid of ruining the screen that was used to collect kif. I am not sure if yours is a kifer or just a grinder but this is a major concern of mine when cleaning the grinder. If it doesn't have any screens in it and is stainless steel I would try some sort of polish and then rinse with hot hot water for several hours. I had a few stainless steel grinders that had a habit of collecting kif/crystals/bud in the threads that were used to screw on the lid so that is something to watch out for.

All in all - if these things aren't spotless and smelling of roses I wouldn't take them on the plane.

Oh, one last thought: How is the rest of your belongings getting to school? I assume you have a computer. furniture and such. Is there anyway you could include your unmentionables in with that and would relieve yourself from taking them on the plane altogether.

I have cleaned everything. My pipe I dipped in 91% alcohol for a couple hours, rinsing with hot water, and picking out resin with q-tips and other tools. It looks brand new to the untrained eye. My grinder i did the same. Both look good. I also packet them in a little satchel, wrapped in snuggles laundry softners or whatever. Would that be okay? I dont want to go through the trouble of finding a place when i can just have them.

Then you wont have to worry about taking it on a plane.

I would never take anything weed related on a plane (unless it was legal!).

I use a toothbrush on my grinder and I soak my pipes in Zippo fluid overnight. That's really not something you want to spill into a carpet.

You most likely bought that pipe for Tobacco use (according to the person who sold it to you), that being said, a pipe isnt illegal. If its clean, then you shouldnt have a problem. You bought it for tobacco, and thats what your using it for.

So i bet everyone is curious as to what i did. I did soak everything in 90% rubbing alcohol for hours on end (atleast 6), and with my grinder i soaked it in the alcohol for a good 2 hours, while scrubbing with a toothbrush. I packed everything up, putting my stuff at the bottom of my suitcase. I thought i was golden. The night before my flight, i woke up in a panic and was real paranoid so i took everything out, and its still at my house. ill have to go get it when i come home for thanksgiving. Should scales be okay on the plane as well?

they usualy look for large amounts if weed and not realy pipes or grinders or scales there more concenttrated on bombs

Don't be stupid.
You're playing with fire, even if you "cleaned" your pieces.
If you can't afford to buy new pieces where you go to school, or don't want to, the next best thing is to MAIL the pieces to yourself, anonymously.
