i went to the hardware shop the other day because i was sick of not having a pipe, i picked up a reducing elbow, a connector piece and a tube, all made out of metal. my friend told me that the bowl (the elbow piece) and the connector were steel and that the tube was brass. I havent used it yet, but it looks pretty good. Is there any problem with it from what u have heard oir is any part of it harmful?

you shouldnt have a problem, but the metal may give off a nasty aftertaste, which is the main reason i prefer glass pipes over any other type.

my friend made me a stainless steel pipe in welding class cuz he choke slammed my glass sherlock, ne ways stay away from galvenized steel unless u want to die, but reg steel is ok, same wit brass, once u get it resinated she will taste better, i dont think it is possible to heat steel to temp wit a lighter where it will give off toxic fumes but i may be wrong, dont use tinfoil in ur steel pipe, from experience i think i had a bad chemical reaction from the foil and steel cuz my ears felt like they were draining into my throat and my ewere ringin like a mutha****a

If it's giving off a bad taste, that means you are probably inhaling some of the stuff from the metal.

I made a pipe out of brass and gave it to someone, but I don't think I would have even used it Brass tends to tarnish, so I don't know if that could come off from heat or what it will do to your body.

how do i know it the steel is galvinized ?

my piece is made out of wood, and it tastes like wood, like we smoke outta it and the pot tastes different, then me and my friend hit outta his metal pipe and when the bowl is still packed it tastes like pure marijuana, but then when the bowl is almost b*tched, you get the gross after taste, i think its time to get a glass pipe

I've heard a lot of debate over aluminum in pipes. I just stay away from metal altogether though. I like glass.

I agree for taste glass is the way to go but if your like me you love to scrape resin when your stash is low or your just waiting forr the guy to bring you your bud If so i say metal is better for scraping. Glass you can boil it down, lose the color, and have a nasty pan to now scrape resin from, or try and scrape it with conventional methods and risk breaking the piece. With metal i just grab a knife and go to town, get me a fat gram of resin and get crazy stoned.

With the quality of bud i have been getting lately though, i need to get a glass one hitter soon.
