just wondering if anyone on the board makes their own glass pipe's or blow's their own glass. Just curious because i've always thought that this was a beautiful trade, and was thinking about getting into it, and was wondering what all equipment is needed, what's the best way to learn, how hard is it to make simple pipes, and what not. so... anyone?

i make ****ty pipes from hardware store supplies and stuff i find around my house. but, i dunno much about glass pipes except that i hear that its really kinda bad for you--you inhale airborne glass particles or something as you make them, and if messes up your lungs like those guys who do coal mining. not as bad, definitely, but i hear it isn't a healthy thing to do.

i haven't really made any good pipes for myself. but my friend's 18th birthday is tomorrow and he smokes me out all the time so i figured i'd get him something. unfortunately, i'm broke. so i decided i would make him a pipe or something because he doesn't have a piece. digging through hardware in the garage, i found various pieces of tubing and some parts for garden irrigation systems. i managed to piece together some that fit. i cleaned the parts using come C.L.R. (that stuff is the shizzit!). testing it (i don't want to give him a defective piece of crap), all i needed was one hit, which knocked me backwards. definitely a good gift. if anyone wants plans, PM or e-mail me.

I make my own peace pipes. Working on one right now that won't be done for quite a while. They are the best. making mine out of a hollowed out length of sumac. About any wood can be used. My first one I did I used a precut round piece and just drilled the hole. I don't know how to carve with soapstone and prolly woudl not be good at it so i make the wooden piece fit on a regular pipe. There are a few sites on how to make one. Do a search

oh hell yeh..... i make these one hitters out of carved wood and i attatch a socket wrench peice and i sell em at my school for like $20 a peice....its crucial

my only home made piece is my gravity bong....

mine is a little different that the common gravity bong....

i use a socket wrench as the bowl, and its the perfect size for a fat hit....i still use the soda bottle but instead of submerging it i just tape a plastic bag over the bottom and this thing works perfectly....i use it for bud conservation, cuz you only need a little weed to get high with this thing....

since the man's question was about blowing glass, I'll try to answer it. I don't blow glass, I do know a few people that do though. Not very well, but well enough to know that it can't be that hard. I imagine it'll probably cost as much as any hobby to start doing, and plenty of time and effort to blow a real phatty head piece. But I don't think it'll take you long at all to figure out how to blow a simple spoon.

It should be noted that this is based entirely on my own speculation. I'd poke around on the net, I'm sure you can find something to help you.

i havent made any glass pipes but i made a wicked metal pipe with a bunch of stuff outta the hardware store, it was so cool tobad i lost it 2 weeks after i made it.

hey iowa man how long are your pipes? i wanna make a nice peace pipe but the longest drill bit i have is only like 6 inches...can i get longer? if i make a peace pipe i want the shaft to be at least 12 inches long
