I was looking in headshop near me and i saw soap stone pipes. Are there any problems associated with having a stone pipe. Just wondering before I decide to buy one. I was looking at these two: Attachment 4344

Problems? Not that I know of... stronger than glass, won't heat up like metal, more durable than wood.

Go glass, you'll never regret it. Tastes better, looks better and is way easier to clean. When those stone ones get clogged (which I can almost guarantee will happen), they can be a pain in the ass. If you do go with stone, I'd get one that looks somewhat like a real pipe. Don't get one of those flat ones. Just my opinion.

I've had a stone pipe for 30 years and never had a problem with it. It's much tougher than glass. I've dropped it from five feet onto concrete and all that happened was a tiny chip. I clean it like any other pipe: swab out the bowl with a cotton ball, ream out the stem with a pipe cleaner, both soaked in rubbing alcohol.

I used to use it for smoking hash. Now, about the only time it gets used is when I'm testing a new batch of weed to see if I want to buy some.

If buzzby says they're good, then they must be good. Should I get the one that looks like a traditional pipe or the flat one?

Mine's flat, which is nice because it sits in my pocket without making a big lump on the outside of my pants. I like the looks of the traditional pipes in your picture, too.

Partly, it depends on how you want to use it. The flat pipes have smaller bowls, which are great for one-hit packs. I like that because I use mine for testing and the occasional one-hitter. When smoking by yourself, the one-hit approach avoids wasting weed in side-stream smoke. If you are going to be smoking with other people, the traditional pipes with bigger bowls would be better.

If you already have a regular pipe, then go with the flat one for some variety.

my god dude, i just got my first stone pipe, friend brought it back with him from mexico. i love that fucking thing, ill take it over glass any day. dont beak as easlily, still a clean taste, and theyre usualy small and easy to conceal. ill post pics when i get the time..
