Boiling will stink up your house, don't do it.

The best way to clean a glass pipe is to soak it in hot water for a couple hours, than straighten a paperclip and scrape the inside of the pipe out by inserting the paperclip in through the bowl, the carb and the mouth. After scraping a bit, run water through the pipe. Repeat until it's clean.

Dude, have you ever TRIED alcohol? it OWNZ hot water.

Get some isopropal alcohol and soak them in it for a a while. Make sure the alcohol covers them completely. Every so often, take them out and run a pipe cleaner though them until they are clean. That's how I clean my glass pieces and it works perfectly.

If your going to use rubbing alcohol i dont think you should smoke it after.

scrape it and soak it in rubbing alochol for a while. it'll be all new-looking. just remember to rinse it off really good, and let it air dry!

I didn't see that he wanted to smoke it afterwards, sorry. Though I must say I've been told numerous times that the alcohol completely evaporates leaving a harmless residue, though I've never tried it cause it seem kinda sick...

true...the alcohol WILL evaporate if you let the resin dry out. The stuff thats left CAN be smoked, but personally I don't smoke it. I've tried it, and I guess you could say it works, but....its yucky. I just "resin hit" my pipe, or scrape what resin I can from it using toothpicks, paperclips, etc. Then, when I've decided I've gotten what is salvageable, I put it in a ziplock baggie full of rubbing alcohol for about 24 hours. Rinse with hot water (flush several times with hot water for BEST results) and VIOLA....a brand new looking pipe!

After you take it out of the alcohol and clean it... just run it under some hot water for a little bit. It'll be fine to smoke as soon as its dry. I've done it this way a couple times.
