I borrowed a friend's pipe and when I go to light it I can't any air going through the hole. I tried putting it under hot water and still couldn't get smoke through the pipe. What else can I clean it with?

try cleaning it out with a paperclip, or a pipe cleaner if its metal, wood, or stone

if it's glass, i recommend Formula 420 glass cleaner or rubbing alcohol with salt...just put it in the pipe and shake it up and then rinse it heavily with water

if neither of these solutions work, then chuck the piece out

Clean it. Just put it in a pot, submerged in water and boil that sucker.. wait 5 minutes. turn off the heat, once somewhat room temp take it out and go outside, hold the carb and blow hard and hope for the best!

Or a paper-clip.. Sounds like it's just built up resn, so clean it!

Well I am college so I dont have hold of pipe cleaners, boiling, or rubbing alcohol. And I cant even find a paperclip to scrape. What about sinking it in Sprite? Seeing as it is acidic. Would that work?

headshops sell cleaning solutions and pipe cleaners

rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol) is sold everywhere...pharmacies, small markets, grocery stores ...just clean in a well ventilated area cause it smells so strong and the fumes arent good

and paperclips shouldnt be hard to find

(oh and if you HAVE to use soda, regular Coke is the best...you can clean an engine with that ****)

Go to walgreens and get yourself some rubbing alcohol. Ive found that 91% works best.

Just take a random pointed thing and unclog the hole. Problem solved.

When I ordered my pipe, it cxame with some basic "instructions" for cleaning. They recommended the alcohol/salt solution, and specifically said to NOT boil it, s such drastic temperature changes can cause the pipe to shatter or crack. While many people have boiled their pipes before, I wouldn't, ESPECIALLY if it didn't belong to me. So, don't boil it....just soak it overnight in some rubbing alcohol/salt, then flush with hot tap water to remove any remaining resin/ash/whatever is clogging your pipe. This has always worked for me, and it perfectly safe. Boiling a pipe that isn't yours is asking for trouble IMO.
