Does anyone know if it is illegal to carry an unused glass pipe (so, no resin, no nothing, just blown, never been touched) in your carry-on or checked baggage on a US domestic flight (obviously, nothing to go with the pipe - just pipe transit, so to speak)? I have a gift for a friend that I'll be seeing in a few days, but if it's not legal, then I'm more than happy to mail it.

If you know what the law states and can point me to a link, let me know. I would certainly appreciate it.

yeah i was underage and coming back from the bahamas with two new glass pipes. i put them through the xray machine in a bag and no one ever said anything to me. (this was in the bahamas by the way if that makes a difference)

I went on a cruise a few years back and we flew into the US from Puerto Rico. My friend had a wooden pipe she had boughten for a friend and it had been used once or twice as well. It was in a carry on wrapped up and there were no problems.

A used pipe would/could attract some attention, but I don't think anyone would say anything about a pipe that obviously hasn't been used. I've had friends bring pipes back from many places, and no one as ever had a problem. Just throw it in your suitcase....shouldn't be any problems
