i bought a pipe about a month ago, smoked about an 1/8 in it and i'm wondering how i would go about cleaning it. It's small, maybe four inches and it has pretty thin glass. i'm pretty new to smoking so i'm clueless on all these types of things. I keep it in a plastic bag...i don't know if that makes a difference. thanks for the help in advance

umm you can get any # of resin cleaners from headshops. i think rubbign alcohol works salt water pipe cleaners. but an 8th isnt anything to be worried about id clean after like atleast a quarter or so

yea, unless there was something very dirty about the 1/8 of weed you put through it, it shouldn't require cleaning at this point.

but rubbing alcohol or that formula 420 stuff should clean it pretty well.

i know some people who clean their pipe after every use....it doesnt matter when its "required" to clean the pipe....ive heard alcohol and sea salt work well, and formula 420.

You know the things you used to use in like 1st grade pipe cleaners. I use those they can be bought at any tabocco shop works wonders.

most people almost never clean it. get it really resinated so it hits better.. but it smells that way

I clean mine after every 1/8 or quarter or so. Well, after every new bag, roughly. The whole reason I use glass is so that I taste the ganj and nothing else, which is why I love the first bowl in a spanking clean piece. I use good old CVS brand 91% rubbing alcohol, maybe a pipecleaner to get the far spots, and Q-Tips for the detail work. The more you clean, the easier it is. I soak the pipe for a few hours, then clean it for less than 5 minutes, and its still new looking after well over a year (2 maybe?) of daily use.

Dudes dont waste money on those dam solvents. I post this like once a week.
USE A POT OF BOILING WATER PUT YOUR PIPE IN AND ALL THE RESIN POURS OUT. Use tong or something to put it in and out I have had about 6-7 Different Pipes And they do not break in boiling water. USE BOILING WATER DAMMIT NOW SICK ASS ALCHOHOL SOLVENTS

^^ incase you didnt know, alot of pieces are too big to fit in boiling water. Also, just boiling WILL NOT remove all the resin in a pipe thats heavily resinated. When i bought my bong she threw in some cleaner, it WORKS WONDERS! alcohol works good too, but this stuff is really awesome. I've been cleaning pipes for years and this is the best solvent i've run across. its called "Dr. Greens Chalice Cleaner"

High temperatures like boiling water will stress or break a glass pipe. I wouldn't recommend boiling water for a glass pipe (especially a thin one) unless it was made with Pyrex...which I doubt. Rubbing alcohol is the most readily available way to clean a glass pipe. Glass isn't porous so you don't need to worry about smoking the alcohol, just rinse it out with running water afterwords.
