questions on my new metal pipe

I just recently bought a metal pipe that came with one of those caps with a hole that screws into the top of the bowl. I was wondering what the caps purpose was?

Basically, they allow to carry your pipe with a full bowl without weed falling out.

Yeah, just put the flame over the hole and breathe in. you might have to take it off after most of the bowl is cashed, though; sometimes there's some in the side of the bowl that didn't get lit.

I really loved my metal pipe (my first one, too) that had a cap. I could take a hit, the bowl would go out in three seconds, and I could throw it right in my pocket for later. But it got confiscated when a friend and I got pulled over; luckily he didn't charge me for it (thank GOD).
