Actually, by "resinating" your buds in the chamber, you are simply adding more tar to the buds, without adding any major amount of THC. basically, you are making the bud more harmful to smoke, not to mention worse tasting, without adding anything good to them. Tar that builds up in pipes doesn't contain a whole lot of THC, and is basically composed of stuff you wouldn't normally want to smoke. Many people will disagree, but really, theres not any point in "resinating" the weed, or smoking resin at all for that matter. it tastes bad, gives a short high (due more to oxygen deprivation than thc intoxication) and isn't very good for you. Yet another reason I can't stand resin buildup in my pipe...aside from coloration differences, I find it completely pointless.

yeah thats what i was like when i had my glass spoon, but then eventually it broke and i got over it with a green plastic bong that you couldnt see get dirty. but i recently traded the bong for a big bag of weed. im getting a new glass pipe soon though.

I'm just plain lazy. I don't smoke the nasty tar, I clean my pipes when I'm totally bored and out of weed and just need something to keep me occupied.

My proto pipe gets cleaned every 3-4 days, more often if I smoke out of it a lot; pretty high maitenance pipe but I LOVE IT.

My glass peanut doesn't get cleaned unless I get the sudden urge to do it. It hasn't been cleaned in two months.

Also, the tar that builds around the hole in the bottom of the bowl acts as a sort of screen. I find I don't suck as much ash through when my pipe is thick with gooey tar.

I let my pipes get resignated because they are color changing. the change in color intensifies the color scheme adding another demension to the pipe. I have yet to see a great cc peice in a long time.

Another reason to let resign build up in my pipes is because i smoke the medical and alot, ALOT of hash/hash oils out of the pipes, so scraping resign you get some hash in there as well.

When a great tasting smoke shows up i might clean my pipe to get the best tasting hit with that bud.

I have a colour changing pipe, i usually just leave the resin in it untill im bored and feel like cleaning it which usually happens once or twice a month.

Keep it clean. If anyone thinks that resin enhances the taste of their weed then they don't have good weed. And all my cc glass looks better clean than covered in resinous muck. You don't really lose much, if any, color by cleaning regularly. And it makes them much easier to clear, preventing the pipe from being banged around and accidentally broken.
